There are many rehabs all over the country, but when you need to check into an alcohol rehab center for men or women, it can be overwhelming trying to figure out the best course of action for treatment. Now a new navigator can land people in the right direction when they need help.
There are many apps and technologies to help people in recovery, and now there’s the Alcohol Treatment Navigator, which was developed by the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, or NIAAA.
As a press release for the navigator says, “With many treatment options available, the navigator makes the search easier by telling [you] what [you] need to know – and what [you] need to do – to find appropriate, quality care.”
And one of the doctors who developed the Navigator said it was developed to “help address the ‘treatment gap,’” meaning that less than 10 percent of people who need help with drinking get treatment, and many don’t get the right care that they need.
As another doctor says, “The navigator is designed to take the mystery and frustration out of that search by guiding then through a step-by-step process to find a qualified treatment provider.
