Chris Cornell and the Superunknown

I was just listening to Down on the Upside by Soundgarden (Chris Cornell’s band) and the lyrics, “I think it’s turning back around, And I think I like it, I think it’s turning back around, Though I don’t know why it is, I think it’s turning back on me, I’m down on the upside, I think it’s turning back on me, Now I’m the good ride” are still in my head. Cornell inspired so much of my creativity and love for art.

As Cornell was ready to close what is now his last show ever, he and his band coved Led Zeppelin’s “In My Time of Dying”, no one could have predicted what was about to happen as he sang the opening lyrics, “In my time of dying, I want nobody to mourn, All I want for you to do is take my body home.” Hours after the show Cornell was found dead at 52.

The journey out of depression and addiction is unbelievably difficult, and we all have to help and love those around us as much as we can so that this doesn’t happen again!

#RIP Chris Cornell.
